Scammers’ Tactics
- It’s the IRS: You owe taxes and must pay immediately or face arrest!
- It’s Social Security: Your number was compromised and you need to take immediate action?
- Free Money: You qualify for a federal grant!
- You’ve Won: You’ve won millions in a federally-supervised lottery!
What You Should Know
- The government will not contact you out of the blue.
- The government will not contact you by text or email.
- The government does not accept payment by wire transfer or gift card.
- The government does not oversee lotteries or sweepstakes.
- There is no such thing as the Federal Grants Administration.
