Grand Rapids class teaches healthy eating

Health Reimagined art



A six-week class sponsored by Senior Neighbors and AARP Michigan will help older adults make nutritional choices to support improved heart and bone health, as well as general health and mobility.

Participants will learn about healthy eating choices, physical activity, and work toward developing healthier habits and behaviors. Two facilitators with support from a dietitian and nutritionist will lead the program.

There is no charge to participate in this series.

Classes will be held in Grand Rapids on the following Tuesdays from 1:00 – 3:30 p.m. at Senior Neighbors, located at 678 Front St NW, Suite 205. Free parking is available in the lot across from the Senior Neighbor’s office building between Scribner and Front.  Please enter the using the south entrance and take elevator or stairs to the 2 nd floor. Suite 205 is located at the top of the stairs.

September 22           Session 1:   MyPlate Label Reading, Portion Control and Exercise

September 29           Session 2: Grains, Vegetables, Fruits, Water and Exercise

October 6                   Session 3: Meat, Eggs, Legumes, Milk and Exercise

October 13                 Session 4: Fats, Sweets, and Exercise

October 20                 Session 5: Grocery Store Outing

October 27                 Session 6: Meal Preparation or     Cooking  Demonstration
