Help for Caregivers: Series Offered in Jackson

Caregivers, a silent army of unsung heroes, need information, emotional support and access to resources.

That's why AARP Michigan will offer a series of free programs on caregiving in Jackson from April to October.

Caregiver College will launch April 25 from 6-8:30 p.m. at Gene Davis & Sons, 3575 Francis St., Jackson, with a session on “Preparing for Caregiving.”

These other sessions will be offered at the same time and place:

  • “Assessing Recipients’ and Caregivers’ Needs and Preferences,” on May 30.
  • “Planning and Managing Care,” on June 27.
  • “Recipient Care Services Options and Alternative Settings,” on July 25.
  • “Financing Recipient Care and Getting Help with Payment,” on Aug. 29.
  • “Hospital Emergencies and Transitions,” on Sept. 26.
  • “Legal Decision-Making for Another and Estate Issues,” on Oct. 24.
