AARP Eye Center
AARP Michigan is hosting a virtual discussion featuring five retired physicians who are now themselves living with dementia. On Thursday, Aug. 11, at noon, they will share their insights into treatments, the stigma and the questions people should ask their own doctors.
The discussion is part of the ongoing work of the National Council of Dementia Minds and AARP Michigan, which is part of the Michigan Dementia Coalition. Over the past three years, the group has developed training for the state’s Adult Protective Services staff and created a dementia resource guide for families, available at midementiacoalition.org/resources.
Regardless of age, there are steps that people can take to improve brain health.
To register for the discussion, visit aarp.org/mi and click on Events. To find a speaker on dementia for a community group, go to midementiacoalition.org/speakers.
