AARP Eye Center
As I start my journey as State Director of AARP Michigan, I would like to introduce myself to our volunteers, partners, members and to all Michiganders who deserve the opportunity to age with dignity and purpose.
My name is Paula Diane Cunningham. I have had a rich and rewarding career in education as President of Lansing Community College and in the business community as CEO of Capitol National Bank. Now I am honored in my encore career to be part of the leadership team at AARP, a phenomenal organization that works tirelessly on behalf of people age 50 and older to help them to live their best lives.
I followed my heart to this job.
I am equally honored to stand side by side with the more than 200 AARP volunteers in this state. You are the ones who make the magic happen, who help this organization achieve its lofty social mission and advance its ambitious advocacy agenda.
I look forward to traveling across this great state and meeting each of you, as well as many of the 1.4 million members who put their trust and confidence in AARP to help turn their goals and dreams into real possibilities.
Together we will help strengthen communities, and fight for the issues that matter most to families such as support for caregiving, access to health care, financial freedom and security, affordable utilities and protection from fraud, scams and identity theft.
I heartily welcome your ideas, thoughts, and suggestions as we move forward. Call or email us at 1-866-227-7448 or miaarp@aarp.org.
Our entire team takes to heart the AARP motto coined by our founder, Ethel Percy Andrus, who said “we are here to serve and not be served.”
I look forward to our journey.
