FolkGalore Festival 2015, a two-day music event in Jackson, will rock downtown on Aug. 28-29.

Nine folk acts from around the country will grace the stage at Michigan Theatre and Weatherwax Hall over the two days.

AARP Michigan is a sponsor of the event.

“Today’s AARP members know more than ever about where the good times are and the best life is waiting. That includes rocking it out in every direction, like at this year’s Jackson FolkGalore Festival -- America’s first AARP Jams Cool Concerts Event,” said Andrew Farmer, AARP Associate State Director.

Doors open at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 28 at the Michigan Theatre of Jackson, 124 N. Mechanic St., for four shows: Vic McDermott, Banjo Mike, The Armcriers, and Picks and Hammers.

On Saturday, Aug. 29 doors will open at Michigan Theatre at 1:30 p.m. for Harper and the Midwest Kind, John Louis Good, Ian Stewart and Donny Brown and the Vandell - Tones.

Smoking Flowers will close the event at Weatherwax Hall (Jackson Symphony Orchestra) on Saturday. Doors open at 7 p.m.

AARP members get in free. Pre-order tickets are $10, and $12 at the door. Purchase advance tickets at www.michigantheatre.org
