In observance of National Family Caregivers Month, AARP Mississippi will host a family caregiving conversation on the AARP Mississippi Facebook and YouTube pages at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 19. Topics include: Finding balance with caregiving, Resources and information for caregivers, and Caregiving during the holidays.
The unpaid care provided by the 470,000 caregivers in Mississippi is valued at $5.6 billion, according to state data available in AARP’s latest report in the Valuing the Invaluable series.
Family caregivers play a vital role in Mississippi’s health care system, whether they care for someone at home, coordinate home health care, or help care for someone who lives in a nursing home. AARP Mississippi knows that family caregivers need information and resources, in order to provide support for their loved ones.
