Caregivers Together Offers Support

Caregiving Resource Center

Caregivers Together, a local support group in Carthage, meets monthly to offer family caregivers in the area an opportunity to share stories with others facing the same challenges. Founded by AARP volunteer Jinny Hopp, the group also shares tips on how to balance your own life and work with the tasks required to meet an aging loved one’s needs.

"It’s the small things that can matter the most,” said Hopp. “Talking with others who have solutions based on their own experience means a great deal.”

There are more than 790,000 family caregivers in Missouri. AARP encourages members in other parts of the state to organize similar support groups. To learn how to start a support group or to find support, call 866-389-5627 toll-free or go to aarp.org/caregiving.
