Suzan DeCamp, 67, of Omaha, is AARP Nebraska’s new volunteer state president, helping to lead AARP’s work at the state and local levels.
DeCamp, who owns an abstract and title insurance business, will chair the AARP Nebraska Executive Council, a team of volunteers who help guide and implement activities and advocacy efforts on behalf of the 50-plus. Since 2016, DeCamp has served as the council’s lead volunteer on federal issues and as an AARP advocacy volunteer at the state Capitol.
In 2019, she received the AARP Andrus Award for Community Service—the association’s highest award for volunteers in each state. In her new position, DeCamp is also the principal volunteer spokesperson for AARP Nebraska. The volunteer state president serves a two-year term and can be reappointed to two additional terms.
