“This award highlights volunteers who are going beyond everyday volunteer activities and making a powerful impact on their community or the state,” said Joseph Roybal Sanchez, AARP New Mexico State Director. “They are using their experience and knowledge and of course time, to help others. This falls directly into the footsteps of our founder Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus.”

Nominations will be evaluated by a committee and based on how the volunteer’s work has improved the community, reflected AARP’s vision and mission, and inspired other volunteers. The award recipient will be announced in early fall.
