AARP now offers the Smart Driver class virtually through Zoom. Residents of Massachusetts or Rhode Island may be eligible to receive a discount on their automobile insurance premiums. Check with your insurance agent to see if you qualify.

When you register for the class and pay the fee, you will be given the code to join the meeting. Pre-registration is required.

$20 for AARP members /  $25 for non-AARP members, both in-person and virtual

What to expect as a volunteer?

  • If new to Driver Safety, attend an in-person AARP Driver Safety Class 
  • Enroll in and complete the Volunteer Training learning path on the AARP Volunteer Portal 
  • Teach a class with seasoned instructor to gain feedback and learn next steps to become an instructor 
  • Participate in Rhode Island State Meetings as required
