On Sept. 11, AARP Tennessee members will participate in a statewide service day to fight hunger.

AARP Tennessee’s annual service day is Sept. 11 we need your help to make the biggest difference possible. Our Celebration of Service focus is once again on hunger – did you know that nearly one in five older Tennesseans is at risk of going to bed hungry?

Let’s stand united against this issue and put our passion to work to help feed hungry Tennesseans!

There are several ways you can fight hunger:

  • Volunteer at a food pantry or food bank
  • Support your local Meals on Wheels program
  • Spend time helping at a local rescue mission

Visit Create The Good to find specific opportunities in your community.

Can’t make it out to volunteer on Sept. 11? A donation can go a long way! In fact, according to Feeding America, every $1 donation provides 10 meals to needy families! Donate today >>

Let us know how you serve and receive a free gift! Post on the AARP Tennessee Facebook page, tweet using the hashtag #TNServiceDay or email your activity and photos to Tnvolunteer@aarp.org. We want to share your work to inspire others to take action for this important cause.
