Who Will Be Nashville's Next Mayor?

The 2023 election for Nashville’s next mayor will be a hotly contested race, with many candidates vying for your vote. Every voice and every vote matters!

But there are so many dates and deadline to keep track of – that’s where AARP comes in. We’ve compiled all the important dates and resources to make sure you can exercise your right to vote for the next mayor.

Since the last mayoral election, a new district map has been created, so check the Davidson County Polling Place Finder to se where to vote.

Registered voters in Davidson County will go to the polls on August 3, Nashville’s primary election day. Before then, there are some key dates to be aware of as you prepare to vote:

May 5: First Day to Request Absentee Ballot
July 5: Voter Registration Deadline (Register to Vote: www.GoVoteTN.com)
July 14: Early Voting Begins
July 27: Last Day to Request Absentee Ballot
July 29: Early Voting Ends
August 3: Primary Election Day

If none of the candidates receives at least 51% of the vote during the August 3 primary, the top two vote-getters will enter into a run-off, which is scheduled to be held on September 14, 2023.

August 25: Early Voting Begins: August 25
September 7: Last Day to Request Absentee Ballot
September 9: Early Voting Ends
