We will discuss several issues, including housing, Social Security, Medicare, prescription drug prices, and more. Senator Welch will take your questions live to learn more about what’s on the minds of older Vermonters.

Join us by phone or on Facebook on Thursday, January 15 at 10:00 am for a conversation about mature workers and how they can use local resources to learn new skills, re-enter the workforce, or find jobs consistent with their interests and abilities. We’ll discuss career tips, job-search tools, and professional resources that every experienced worker can use to sharpen their skills or get hired. AARP knows that people are living and working longer, and experienced workers bring expertise, maturity, and perspective. Experienced workers should have a level playing field in their ability to compete for, obtain, and retain jobs, so we have invited Associates for Training and Development, or A4TD, to join us on our call.

Imagine you learn today that your mother has just suffered a serious stroke and is in the hospital. Then imagine that you are now being asked to make decisions about her medical care. You just had lunch with her last week and she seemed so healthy.
AARP Vermont joined with FairPoint Communications, Vermont Attorney General William Sorrell and others in law enforcement to raise awareness about a telephone scam originating from the Jamaican 876 area code that targets seniors in Vermont and across northern New England.
