Wisconsin lawmakers just formed a Task Force on Elder Services with the goal of recommending legislation that will make life better for older Wisconsinites. The Task Force is expected to meet several times during the remainder of the 2025-2026 legislative session, which ends in March of 2026.

AARP Wisconsin to Urge Task Force to Act on Key Issues
AARP Wisconsin will be keeping up with the Task Force's activities, and will take every opportunity to ask the task force to:

  • Address the growing fraud crisis and help fraud victims by creating cryptocurrency ATM consumer protections and creating a Fraud Restitution Fund
  • Provide financial relief for unpaid family caregivers by creating a state Caregiver Tax Credit
  • Establish public-private retirement savings accounts that provide an easy way for Wisconsin workers to save on the job.

Keep up with action alerts on our Elder Services Task Force landing page.
