Every 2 seconds someone’s identity is stolen, however, not everyone has to be a victim. On Oct. 26, AARP Tennessee and the Franklin Police Department will host a special panel discussion in downtown Franklin as part of AARP’s Fraud Watch Network program.

The panel discussion will convene leaders from the public sector and private enterprise in an informative conversation and take audience questions about fraud.

This free event is open to the public, however, seating is limited on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open at 1 p.m. CDT for refreshments prior to the panel discussion, which begins at 1:30 p.m.

The AARP Fraud Watch Network is a free program for both AARP members and non-members. It provides information about how to protect yourself and your family, offers “Watchdog Alerts” to stay up on con artists’ latest tricks, and what to do if you’ve been victimized.
