As a part of AARP’s initiative to support family caregivers who help make it possible for older Americans and other loved ones to live independently at home, AARP Oklahoma will host a celebration of caregivers with its #IHeartCaregivers Week events. The events will take place June 24-28 at Tulsa’s Guthrie Green, 111 East M.B. Brady Street.
The week’s events include Fitness on the Green: Zumba, a Sunday concert and Caregivers Hospitality Lounge, and Movie Night in the Park. AARP Oklahoma’s #IHeartCaregivers Week will feature resources and help for caregivers, as well as opportunities to relax. All events are free and open to the public, and guests do not have to be AARP members or caregivers to enjoy the #IHeartCaregivers Week activities. “Approximately 524,000 Oklahomans are family caregivers. AARP Oklahoma recognizes these caregivers provide a labor of love and deserve our support and thanks,” said Sean Voskuhl, AARP Oklahoma state director. “AARP Oklahoma’s #IHeartCaregivers Week is dedicated to these individuals, and we want to assist them with support and information on caregiving solutions such as training, help at home, flexibility at work, and general tools to make big responsibilities easier.”

#IHeartCaregivers Week kicks off on Sunday, June 24 with Total Blast Zumba on the Green. This easy-to-follow, dance-fitness party will leave you invigorated, refreshed and full of life and is ideal for all ages. Following the class, cool off with a complimentary treat from The Pop Stand and pick up valuable resources for family caregivers.
