AARP Alabama Seeks Nominees for 2014 Andrus Award for Community Service

Do you know a volunteer age 50+ who selflessly donates their time to making your Alabama community better? If you do, we want to invite you to nominate them for the 2014 AARP Alabama Andrus Award for Community Service.

This annual award is given to an exemplary Alabama volunteer. They do not have to be an AARP member to be nominated. The Andrus Award winner will be announced in late 2014 and celebrated in his or her own community. They will also be honored with a $2,500 donation to the charity of their choice.

AARP Alabama Andrus Award for Community Service nominees must meet the following eligibility requirements:

• Nominee must be 50 years or older.
• The achievements, accomplishments, or service on which the nomination is based must have been performed on a volunteer basis, without pay.
• The achievements, accomplishments, or service on which the nomination is based must reflect AARP’s vision and mission.
• Couples or partners who perform service together are also eligible; however, teams are not eligible.
• This is not a posthumous award.
