Caregiver College coming to Mobile in January

The Area Agency on Aging in Mobile is offering training and assistance to caregivers through their Caregiver College on Wednesday, January 18 from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. This FREE class for caregivers will be held at the GM & O Building, 110 Beauregard St., Second Floor Training Room, Mobile, AL 36604.

Lunch will be provided. Seating is limited, so please make your reservation soon.

Among the topics to be discussed:

Dementia 101: Learn the basics on the most common forms of dementia. Find out what to expect during different stages of the disease. Learn what caregivers can do to cope with daily challenges including communication and safety.

Preparing to Care– Starting the Conversation: A discussion for putting together a supportive plan to help caregivers in their journey. Practice tools and tips offered for caregivers for a peace of mind.

Just 4 Me - Coping as a Caregiver: Learn stress and relaxation techniques; skills for coping with grief, loss and depression; and taking time for yourself. Get tips and ideas for keeping yourself well while caring for a family member or loved one.

Legal Ease: Information from an experienced elder law attorney on medical and financial powers of attorney, and other legal issues.
