AARP Eye Center

Several organizations are working on boosting nutrition or improving outdoor spaces, aided by AARP Community Challenge grants. Among the winners:
Athens: Athens Main Street will improve seating at the local farmers market.
Birmingham: AARP Chapter 4668 Central Birmingham will audit the walkability and accessibility of city streets.
Camp Hill: The Edward Bell Community Foundation will create a rural community garden to grow nutritious food.
Dora: The Mission of Hope will support a program that helps feed 1,000 area residents.
Eldridge: Hubbertville Community Foundation will create a community space with a walking trail, picnic area and playground.
