Did you know Alabama’s SenioRx Prescription Drug Program is not just for seniors?
SenioRx is a state-funded prescription assistance program that assists with obtaining medication at no cost or low cost to people of any age who qualify. SenioRx has helped thousands of Alabama residents receive free or low cost prescription drugs. Individuals on the program receive a three-month supply of prescriptions from various pharmaceutical companies and their prescriptions can be continuously renewed as long as they are on the program.
“Our state SenioRx program has made a big difference in the lives of our clients”, says Neal Morrison, Commissioner with the Alabama Department of Senior Services. “This program has helped thousands of people gain easy access to their daily medications to help manage their chronic illnesses, and save them money. It is important for people to know that you do not have to be a senior citizen to qualify for the program, so anyone who thinks they may qualify should contact their local Area Agency on Aging Office.”
How does someone qualify for SenioRx?
You must meet one set of the following criteria:
(1) If you are 55+ and have a chronic medical condition(s) and have no prescription drug coverage, and meet certain income limits; OR
