AARP Alaska Chair Stretch and Strength
January through May 2024
Wednesdays - 10 am – 11 am Alaska time
(11am Pacific, 12pm Mountain, 1pm Central, and 2pm Eastern.
This virtual chair workout features a mild stretching and strengthening routine that stimulates circulation and relaxes the body.
The chair exercises in this stretching and strengthening workout are low-impact movements performed while seated that are designed to improve flexibility, strength and cardiovascular health.
Get stronger and more flexible as you get your heart rate up! Classes are taught by American Council on Exercise (ACE) Group Fitness Instructor Mitchell G. Menik, who is also an ACE Senior Fitness Specialist and an ACE Orthopedic Exercise Specialist.

Try our virtual tai chi classes to experience the pleasures and benefits of this gentle, mindful workout.
The ancient Chinese martial art of tai chi involves a slow, meditative series of movements designed to open the body, improve oxygen intake, and help the body restore itself.
Research has suggested that the health benefits of tai chi may include improved muscle strength, flexibility and balance and an easing of joint pain and stress.
Classes are taught by American Council on Exercise (ACE) Group Fitness Instructor Mitchell G. Menik, who is also an ACE Senior Fitness Specialist and an ACE Orthopedic Exercise Specialist.
