AARP Alaska Tai Chi with Mitch for Relaxation and Strength

January through June 2025

Fridays – 2 pm – 3 pm Alaska time

(3pm Pacific, 4 pm Mountain, 5pm Central, and 6 pm Eastern.)

Try our virtual tai chi classes to experience the pleasures and benefits of this gentle, mindful workout.

The ancient Chinese martial art of tai chi involves a slow, meditative series of movements designed to open the body, improve oxygen intake, and help the body restore itself.

Research has suggested that the health benefits of tai chi may include improved muscle strength, flexibility and balance and an easing of joint pain and stress.

Classes are taught by American Council on Exercise (ACE) Group Fitness Instructor Mitchell G. Menik, who is also an ACE Senior Fitness Specialist and an ACE Orthopedic Exercise Specialist.

Please consult your physician before beginning any new exercise regimen.

Note: As part of our focus on supporting Veteran and Family Caregivers, registered participants will receive resource links and handouts from AARP's Veterans and Military Families (VMF) initiative and caregiver supports from AARP.

Registration is now open!
