AARP Colorado seeks candidates for volunteer leadership roles

Help our team grow by becoming a part of the AARP Colorado Executive Council.

AARP Colorado is excited to announce that the state office is now accepting applications to join its Executive Council, a volunteer leadership role and experience.

“This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction and impact of AARP in our state,” State Director Sara Schueneman said. “We’re seeking passionate volunteers to help older adults age as they choose. These key members shape our work, serve on committees, meet with legislators, train new volunteers, give presentations, and champion AARP’s mission every day.”

About the Executive Council: The Executive Council is a volunteer leadership body that works closely with AARP staff to develop and implement programs and initiatives that benefit our members and the broader community. Every AARP state office has an Executive Council. As a member of the Executive Council, you will have the chance to:

  • Provide strategic guidance and leadership
  • Advocate for issues important to older adults
  • Collaborate with community partners
  • Help shape the future of AARP Colorado

Who Should Apply: We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals who are committed to making a difference in the lives of older adults. Ideal candidates will have:

  • A strong interest in AARP's mission and values
  • Experience in leadership roles, either professionally or through volunteer work
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • A willingness to commit time and energy to the role

  3. Participating in an interview with current volunteer State President and State Director
