Latinas Honoring Latinas 2019

Latina SafeHouse, a nonprofit that provides services for women and children, is honoring exceptional women in our community during a celebration of its 15th year.

Latinas Honoring Latinas Awards Gala: Quinceañera Edition* will be held Friday Oct. 11, 2019, beginning with a reception at 5:30 p.m. and dinner and program to follow from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, 2000 Colorado Blvd, Denver, CO 80207.

AARP Colorado is a sponsor of the Latinas Honoring Latinas Awards Gala: Quinceañera Edition.

“We are proud and excited to be a part of this event because we know the Latina SafeHouse is instrumental in providing needed programs for women in our community,” said Roberto Rey, AARP Colorado director of multicultural outreach.

The Latina SafeHouse is a beacon that tirelessly meets the growing demand for life-saving programs and services that empower women and children every year to live without violence.

Latinas Honoring Latinas will recognize Latina SafeHouse founders Sr. Carmen Aranda, Patricia Barela Rivera, Sr. Alicia Cuarón, Gina del Castillo, Marcela de la Mar, Katie Garcia, Hon. Letiza Calzada and Benita Muñiz. The Mariposa Award, recognizing an outstanding survivor, will be awarded to Sarahi M.
