A Place to Stay for Families With Sick Children

Print

In support of unpaid family caregivers, AARP Delaware is sponsoring a room at the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware. The house provides shelter for families of children who are seriously or chronically ill or injured and are receiving treatment at area hospitals.

More than 44,000 families have stayed at the house since it opened in 1991. Up to five family members, including grandparents and great-grandparents, may share a room for a nominal donation.

AARP Delaware’s $5,000 sponsorship in 2017 is part of a three-year commitment to help pay for a room.
