AARP Georgia Appoints Five New Executive Council Members

AARP Georgia is pleased to announce the appointment of five new Executive Council Members, representing diverse demographic areas and expertise from all over the state. The Executive Council is a team of volunteer leaders who bring a variety of skills and backgrounds to the AARP Georgia state leadership. They will engage in specific roles that support the accomplishment of AARP’s national priorities within Georgia.

“AARP believes that volunteer service is a unique and valuable contribution which benefits both the volunteer and society,” says Debra Tyler-Horton, AARP Georgia State Director. “This team, along with our existing Executive Council Members, will bring new strategies and inclusive representation for our 1.2 million AARP members in Georgia and the state as a whole.”

The new AARP Georgia Executive Council Members include: Kay Argroves - Bostwick (East of Atlanta and West of Augusta); Wanda Lloyd - Savannah; Jim Peniston - Duluth (Metro Atlanta); Randy Robertson - Columbus; and Daryl K. Williams - Metro Atlanta. Current Executive Council Members include: Debra Tyler-Horton - AARP Georgia State Director; Lee Baker, CFP® - AARP Georgia State President; Myrtle S. Habersham - Macon-Bibb, Sondra Rhoades-Johnson - Atlanta; and Dr. Lois J. Ricci - Tucker.

The team will strategize with AARP Georgia staff and hundreds of designated volunteers to help educate and empower Georgians on caregiving, advocacy, financial resiliency, fraud prevention, and Age-Friendly/Livable Communities.
