AARP Eye Center
As the year draws to a close, AARP Georgia had the immense pleasure of hosting three vibrant and spirited volunteer celebrations across the state, spreading cheer and gratitude to our incredible volunteers in Atlanta, Macon, and Augusta.
These gatherings were not just events; they were heartfelt expressions of appreciation for the invaluable contributions our volunteers have made throughout the year. At each celebration, the highlight was none other than our esteemed AARP Georgia State Director, Debra Tyler Horton. With passion and pride, Debra reflected on the remarkable impact our volunteers have had in making a difference in the lives of countless individuals. She recounted the year's achievements, highlighting the profound difference our volunteers have made in the areas of caregiving, Social Security advocacy, combating fraud, empowering work and savings initiatives, and the organization’s commitment to becoming a digital-first entity to better serve those aged 50 and above.

But these gatherings weren’t just about speeches and agendas; they were joyous celebrations filled with camaraderie, appreciation, and the infectious spirit of the holiday season. Volunteers mingled, sharing stories, laughter, and a collective sense of accomplishment. Amidst festive decorations and delightful refreshments, the atmosphere was one of gratitude and togetherness.
Our volunteers, the heart and soul of AARP Georgia, were truly appreciated, recognized, and celebrated. It was a way for us to express our deepest gratitude for their selfless dedication and unwavering commitment throughout the year. These end-of-year festivities were more than mere parties; they were a precursor to the holiday season, a time for volunteers to kick off celebrations together, and most importantly, to feel excited and invigorated for the year ahead.
To all our volunteers across Georgia, your tireless efforts have not gone unnoticed. You have made an indelible mark, and we are immensely grateful for your invaluable contributions. As we bid farewell to this year, we eagerly anticipate a new year filled with continued collaboration, impact, and shared successes. Thank you for being the driving force behind AARP Georgia's mission.
