Recognizing the energy and strength that volunteers give to its efforts, AARP Georgia is stepping up to help those who help their communities.
The state office is hosting its 2016 Volunteer Summit Oct. 28-29 at the Marriott Century Center in Atlanta. The event is designed to help AARP volunteers do their jobs better by providing a comprehensive overview of AARP activities as well as training in advocacy, team building and communication.
“The curriculum is designed to strengthen skills that volunteers can take back to their communities to bring about positive social change,” said Debra Tyler-Horton, AARP Georgia state director.
The event also includes a celebration of volunteers and presentation of the Andrus Award for Community Service. For more information, go to aarp.org/ga.
