AARP is excited to bring its Block Party, a traveling exhibit that engages attendees with interactive experiences, back to the Atlanta Dogwood Festival at Piedmont Park this April.
In addition to six interactive features, including augmented reality, an interactive photo booth and a prize wheel, AARP is making a $5,000 charitable donation to the True Colors Theatre Company. True Colors was selected because of the work highlighting caregiving in their collaboration with AARP Georgia.
WHAT: AARP Block Party will offer six interactive features:
1. Augmented Reality Experience – This activation is an enhanced version of reality where the attendees will use an iPad to view and interact with 3-D computer images of an animated game aimed at a wall of the exhibit.
2. Social Media Art Mosaic – In this fun and interactive photo activation, attendees will create an artistic mosaic with photos that are converted into stickers. Attendees will also learn more about social media and AARP’s presence on various social media channels and be able to share their photo on their own social media channels.
3. Spin Art/Exercise Bikes – Visitors will get a chance to hop on a stationary bike and create their own take-home spin art by pedaling an exercise bike that spins a piece of paper. Their family member or friend can then squirt paint onto the “canvas” as it spins to create one-of-a-kind spin art.
4. Prize Wheel – Visitors will get a chance to spin a prize wheel for various prizes.
5. Tattoo Station – Visitors can choose a unique temporary tattoo that will come to life through an augmented reality app. Users will have the ability to interact with the augmentations and share their experiences on social media.
6. Giving Trees – The AARP Block Party will feature giving trees. Visitors have the opportunity to fill out a card answering the question “What can you and AARP do to make your community a better place?” and then place the card on the trees.
