Healthy menus and eating will take center stage when celebrity chef Martin Yan makes a pair of appearances in Hawaii this month.

The award-winning chef will demonstrate cooking techniques and share nutritious recipes at the New Year, New Yan, New You event on Sunday, Jan. 20, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., at the Ala Moana Hotel Hibiscus Ballroom in Honolulu; and Friday, Jan. 25, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., at Kaunoa Senior Services in Paia on Maui.

An AARP ambassador, Yan promotes healthy food and lifestyles and encourages older adults to socialize through cooking.

UPDATE: Both the Oahu and Maui events are full. There are no more seats. But check our @AARPHawaii Facebook page on Jan. 20 at about 2:30 p.m. We are planning to livestream Martin Yan’s presentation on Facebook to give people who can’t get in, a chance to see his presentation on healthy eating and cooking.

Registration is required for the free program. Call 877-926-8300 or go to aarp.cvent.com/yan1-20 for the Oahu event, and aarp.cvent.com/yan1-25 for Maui.
