AARP Awards Grants to Three Idaho Organizations as Part of its Nationwide Program to Make Communities More Livable

Today, AARP Idaho announced three organizations will receive 2022 Community Challenge grants – part of the largest group of grantees to date with $3.4 million awarded among 260 organizations nationwide. Grantees will implement quick-action projects that help their communities become more livable in the long-term by improving public places with an emphasis on the needs of adults age 50 and over.

One of the Treasure Valley’s most popular summertime events, the Great Garden Escape concert series, is back in 2022 with discount tickets for AARP members.
AARP Idaho is hosting U.S. Sen. Mike Crapo for a telephone town hall on financial reform, prescription drug costs and other issues important to Americans 50-plus. The Tuesday, May 24, event will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Mountain time and be moderated by AARP Idaho State Director Lupe Wissel. Crapo, a Republican, has served in the Senate since 1999. He is the ranking member of the Senate Finance Committee and serves on banking, budget and tax committees.
