Hispanic Cultural Month Celebration
Wednesday, September 18
5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Hispanic Cultural Center, Nampa
Join state and local officials for the reading of a proclamation recognizing Hispanic Heritage Month. A free tapas tasting reception will follow and tours of the Hispanic Cultural Center.

Day of the Dead Coloring Party
Wednesday, September 25
1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Hispanic Cultural Center, Nampa
Learn more about the tradition in Mexico – Dia de los Muertos - to honor deceased loved ones while creating your own Day of the Dead Art. Using adult coloring books, take home images and increased understanding about this important tradition.

Tamale Tasting Festival
Friday, September 27
2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Hispanic Cultural Center, Nampa
Discover a culinary staple of Latino culture dating back thousands of years. Tamales are packets of corn dough, stuffed and then wrapped in a cornhusk. Learn more about the tradition, taste and vote on best tamale in the Treasure Valley.

Piñata Party
Saturday, September 28
10:00 a.m. to Noon
Hispanic Cultural Center, Nampa
Learn more about the long and rich history of the piñata. Explore the origins about this art form that is popular in Mexican culture. Have fun seeing a piñata making demonstration, and enjoy
taking a whack for some prizes.

Mexican Hot Chocolate
Tuesday, October 1
3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Hispanic Cultural Center, Nampa
Taste the unique flavors of Mexican Hot Chocolate and enjoy a reading of the book, Grandma’s Chocolate / El Chocolate De Abuelita. The book depicts a loving relationship between a granddaughter and grandmother, and shares the history of chocolate, the customs and history of the native peoples of Mexico. Share the experience with the children of the Boys and Girls Club.

Learn to Play Loteria
Wednesday, October 9
11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Hispanic Cultural Center, Nampa
The Hispanic Seniors of Idaho meet on a monthly basis at the Hispanic Cultural Center to share a meal, socialize and have fun. This event is a POT LUCK. Bring a dish to share and have fun playing the traditional Mexican game of chance, Loteria.
