Exploring Community Housing in Malad

Please join us for Design for Life: A special community forum to explore housing options that accommodate aging across the lifespan.

Mayor Joan Hawkins, Molly Beseris from Four County Alliance of SE Idaho, Lisa Anderson from AARP Idaho, and Universal Design Institute will lead the discussion around how to design and redesign our community to accommodate all ages.

Right now, one in five residents in Idaho are 65 or older, and in fewer than twenty years, projections point to a ratio that will be closer to one in four. This demographic surge, combined with the realities of traditional home design, have created a situation in Malad requiring a conversation around how best to accommodate our population as they age.
