AARP Eye Center
AARP Idaho, in conjunction with the Boise Police Department, is hosting a free Consumer Fraud Workshop designed as a fun, educational and interactive event where participants learn to avoid today’s scams while getting the tools and resources they need to protect themselves.
Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden along with the Boise Police Department, Ada County Sheriff, United States Postal Inspection Service and AARP Idaho will discuss local, regional and national scams and the tactics con-artists use to trap their victims.
Events like this are important because criminals have several ways of stealing hard-earned money, including phishing scams, imposter scams, tech-support scams, gold coin scams, oil and gas scams, sweepstakes and lottery scams, grandparent scams and many more.
Although their methods are different, research shows the tactics scammers use are the same.
The access to information that these workshops provide is invaluable in the fight against fraud at the local level and across Idaho.
Come for the entire time or stay for just a little while. We are happy to have you and look forward to the day!
Space is limited and registration is required. To register call 208-855-4038 or click HERE
