AARP Idaho is pleased to announce the appointment of Rhonda Comstock of Moscow to serve on its Executive Council. The AARP Idaho Executive Council is a diverse group of professionals who volunteer to provide strategic advice and counsel with the goal of advancing AARP’s social mission in the Gem State.

Comstock is a retired registered nurse with more than 40 year of experience helping people navigate the intricacies of long-term care. As a family caregiver herself, Comstock understands the needs of seniors and has advocated on their behalf for decades. Her knowledge and understanding of these complex issues compliment an already diverse Executive Council serving the needs of Idahoans.

“I am delighted to have Rhonda join AARP Idaho’s volunteer executive council team,” said Lupe Wissel, AARP Idaho state president. “Her passion and commitment to public service aligns well with Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus, AARP founder’s motto, ‘To serve not to be served.’ We are fortunate to have Rhonda join us as one of Ethel’s army of engaged volunteers, willing to give of her time to make Idaho a better place to live for people of all ages.”

In addition to a distinguished nursing career, Comstock has served as  Moscow Idaho Chamber of Commerce President and Board of Directors, Stepping Stones Advisory Board Member, Triad Publishing Grant Review Board, President of United Way of Latah County, and as a Community Advisory Board and guest Editorial Board member for Moscow Pullman Daily News.

She also utilizes her nursing skills as a member of the Idaho Medical Reserve Corp and currently serves as Vice President and the newsletter creator for the Latah County AARP Chapter.

“We are pleased to have Rhonda Comstock join the AARP-Idaho Executive Council further strengthening member leadership and representation in North Idaho through engaged volunteerism,” said Bessie Katsilometes, Executive Council volunteer president. “Rhonda brings exemplary experience and demonstrated passion for community service to play a significant leadership role for all Idahoans.”

This appointment is effective immediately. She joins returning executive council members Bessie Katsilometes of Meridian, Tom Trail of Moscow, Tom Ressler of Meridian, Marjean Waford of Pocatello, Corrine Fisher of Nampa and Barbara Blasch of Boise.
