Tell Legislators to Support Funding for Aging Issues

Caregivers holding onto one another in an embrace

The Idaho Legislature will be voting soon on House Bill 687 which will provide new dollars in support of aging issues.

It adds to the Idaho Commission on Aging's budget:

  • $5 million to senior centers for the home delivered meals program and to upgrade facilities and appliances
  • $720,000 to support family caregivers of those suffering from Alzheimer's Disease or Related Dementias
  • a new staff position to provide outreach and training regarding aging programs
  • $4,681,700 to provide service enhancements such as technology/training to prevent social isolation, restoration of homes to safe living conditions, legal services, and adult protective services

These are important programs to help our loved ones stay in their homes where they can age-in-place and stay out of expensive institutional care.

Contact your representative HERE and let them know you support House Bill 687.
