As the pandemic has spawned new ways for con artists to trick people out of money, AARP Idaho is holding a telephone town hall with state Attorney General Lawrence Wasden (R) about how consumers can avoid becoming victims.

The town hall will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 26. Visit aarp.org/id for information on registering and listening in. A recording will be available later at vekeo.com/aarpidaho.

Wasden and Brett DeLange of the state consumer protection office will provide information on today’s fraud landscape.

Topics will include how consumers can recognize and thwart scams such as phony IRS calls and false COVID-19 vaccinations.
