On June 25, Sarah Waddle (AARP Indiana State Director) and Linda Dunno (AARP Indiana State President) traveled from the Indiana State Office at 1 North Capitol Avenue to Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. to attend the 2025 AARP Lobby Day. The summer weather was in full force with heat indexes reaching over 100 degrees. Sarah and Linda even came across a woman who had the sole of her shoe melted by the heat! Despite the heat, Sarah and Linda had a day full of meetings with legislators and their teams.

Out of an abundance of caution due to the coronavirus pandemic, the State of Indiana rescheduled its 2020 Primary Election to Tuesday, June 2.
AARP will host a live Coronavirus Information Tele-Town Hall every Thursday at 12 p.m. (CST). Experts at this week’s live Q&A event will address your questions related to protecting yourself and loved ones from the virus, staying healthy and reducing social isolation.
To honor their integral work to support Indiana’s family caregivers during last year’s session, AARP Indiana has named eight Hoosier lawmakers as “2019 Capitol Caregivers,” a bipartisan group of 74 elected officials from 30 states. These leaders advanced policies that support Indiana’s family caregivers. Caregivers help their parents, spouses, adult children with disabilities, and other loved ones live independently at home and in the community.
