Between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM Central Time, you can bring your sensitive documents to Wessleman Woods in Vanderburgh County for shredding. AARP Evansville volunteers will be onsite to ensure your papers are securely destroyed. We look forward to seeing you there!

On April 23 AARP Indiana is offering a virtual Caregiver Connections series event, “The Caregiver Project” – a writing workshop on mindful journaling for those who are or have been caregivers.

AARP Indiana and other advocates in Fort Wayne want the city to update its Complete Streets policy — helping to make streets more accessible and safer for drivers, pedestrians, cyclists and public transit users.

AARP is helping the Indianapolis Public Library system expand its fraud prevention programming to combat rising fraud losses among older residents. The Outsmarting Scammers series will include consumer protection presentations from the Office of the Indiana Attorney General.

Gary, Indiana recently joined the AARP Network of Age-Friendly Communities. Director of Community Engagement, Emily Gorman, traveled to Gary to attend a press conference where Mayor Melton signed an executive order to launch the AARP Age-Friendly Advisory Council. This executive order will kick start a dedicated effort to actively try to make the city of Gary more inclusive for older adults.

It's halftime for the Indiana General Assembly! It’s been a busy session thus far with the AARP Indiana Volunteer Legislative Team hard at work talking to legislators about bill to help protect the financial future of older Hoosiers. At the same time, Legislative Director, Ambre Marr has been busy testifying on behalf of AARP Indiana in multiple House and Senate committees. See them all in action below!
