On Wednesday, AARP announced Iowa Senator Charles Grassley as a recipient of AARP’s 2017 Congressional Award for his legislative leadership during the first year of the 115th Congress on an issue area that will benefit the lives of the 50+, our families, and our communities.

Senator Grassley received this recognition for working in a bipartisan manner on an issue of importance to people age 50 and older. More specifically, Senator Grassley received this award for his leadership in promoting access to audio technologies that improve the quality of life for millions of Americans.

AARP thanked Senator Grassley on Wednesday for his efforts on behalf of America's seniors. “We look forward to continuing to work with Senator Grassley on other issues of importance to seniors, their families and future generations,” said AARP Iowa State Director Kent Sovern.

Other Members of Congress receiving leadership for their bipartisan work on this issue included Sens. Warren, Hassan and Isakson and Reps. Kennedy, Carter, and Blackburn.
