AARP Kansas is excited to partner with two Kansas communities to celebrate the importance of Juneteenth. Together we commemorate freedom for all in the United States and honor the resilience and celebrate the triumph of the human spirit while committing to a vibrant future.
Join us in Topeka for the 11th annual Topeka Family & Friends Juneteenth celebration on Saturday, June 15 from noon to 10 p.m. The event is located at the Hillcrest Community Center and Park, 1800 SE 21st Street. Our volunteers and staff also will be at Wichita's ninth annual JuneteenthICT celebration on Saturday. The event is at McAdams Park, 1329 E. 16th Street N. in Wichita. Events begin Friday evening with Sounds of JuneteenthICT from 6 - 9 p.m. The on Saturday, AARP Kansas along with other vendors and organizations will take part in the Juneteenth ICT Celebration.
