We’re writing with an important message to let you know that we have canceled our external events until further notice. While convening events is a core part of our mission, we have changed our approach in light of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
An AARP Kansas survey of Wichita area residents regarding the livability of their city revealed that nearly all of them (99 percent) believe that well-maintained hospitals and healthcare facilities are extremely or very important for their community. Safe streets and sidewalks, affordable transportation and neighborhood parks also ranked high for a majority of those surveyed.
AARP Kansas announced that the Coffeyville Area Community Foundation is one of 159 communities across the country to receive an AARP Community Challenge Grant. The AARP Community Challenge grant program awarded a total of nearly $1.6 million for “quick action” projects across the country, helping communities make immediate improvements and jumpstart long-term progress to support residents of all ages.
