AARP Kansas is pleased to announce two new team members who will help advance the organization’s mission of empowering people to choose how they live as they age. These hires bring a wealth of experience and passion for serving Kansans across the state.
- Megan Lynn – joins as Associate State Director for Advocacy, bringing extensive experience in public policy and grassroots engagement. Lynn served two terms in the Kansas House of Representatives from 2019 through 2022. During her time in the legislature, she served on multiple committees, including Health and Human Services, Financial Institutions, and the Social Services Budget committee. In 2022, she served as grassroots field director for a statewide campaign in Johnson County, Kansas. Most recently, Lynn worked as a project manager for a pharmaceutical company in Kansas City.
Lynn lives in Olathe, Kansas, with her husband, Chad. They have three children.
- Edith Gaines – has been promoted to Associate State Director for Community Outreach, where she will lead our efforts to connect with local communities and organizations to better serve over 50 population in Kansas. Gaines previously served as AARP Kansas business operations analyst. Before joining AARP, she served for nine years as the finance officer for the Shawnee County Health Department. Gaines received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Management from the University of Mobile and her master’s in public administration from Troy State University. She also earned a master’s in accounting and financial management from Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University and is working towards her Ed.D. in Instructional Design and Performance Technology from Baker University.
She holds several certifications in public health, including a Kansas Public Health Training Fellowship from Wichita State University and a certification in Diverse Executives Leading in Public Health from ASTHO and the Morehouse School of Medicine.
“We are excited to have these talented individuals on our team,” said Glenda DuBoise, AARP Kansas State Director. “Their expertise and commitment will help us continue to make a positive impact for older adults and their families throughout Kansas.”
AARP Kansas works to ensure that people 50-plus have access to resources, information, and opportunities to live life to the fullest. The new hires will play a key role in expanding programs, advocacy, and volunteer engagement across the state.
