The Pleasanton Lincoln Library in Linn County will receive a 2021 livable community grant from AARP Kansas to create a private area within the library to allow older residents and their families access to a computer.
“We are incredibly proud to be able to provide this grant to the Linn County library to assist them in their efforts to make their community a better place to live,” shared AARP Kansas Volunteer State President Judy Bellome. “Our goal at AARP Kansas is to support the efforts of our communities to be great places for people of all backgrounds, ages and abilities.”
“The Pleasanton Lincoln Library Board and staff are extremely honored to accept a fully funded grant from AARP Kansas,” said Wendy Morlan, director of the Pleasanton Lincoln Library. “The space created through this grant can be utilized by seniors and families to converse with health care providers and access the internet for similar business. This space may also accommodate those filing for unemployment or participating in online job interviews. We look forward to sharing this space with those in the Linn County community.”
The AARP Kansas livable community grant is part of AARP’s nationwide Livable Communities initiative, which supports the efforts of cities, towns, neighborhoods and rural areas to become great places to live for people of all ages.
