Named for AARP founder Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus, this award celebrates individuals who embody the principles of service and make a lasting impact in their communities.

AARP testified in favor legislation to regulate cryptocurrency ATMs in Massachusetts. The bill includes fee caps, daily limits, and transparency, The effort has strong backing from law enforcement and follows similar AARP-led laws in 18 states.

AARP Massachusetts has been named to Governor Healey's newly formed Anti-Hunger Task Force, created in response to federal cuts to food assistance. With nearly 1 in 10 older Americans facing food insecurity, AARP says it's essential to have a voice at the table advocating for the health and well-being of older adults.
AARP Massachusetts urges lawmakers to implement the Secure Choice Plan, a no-cost retirement savings program for workers without employer-sponsored plans. Despite legislative approval, Governor Healey has sent the program for further study. AARP urges legislators to override the governor's veto.
On August 14th, AARP will celebrate the 90th Anniversary of Social Security with a red-and-white "Skyline Salute" across Massachusetts landmarks, honoring its legacy and commitment to protecting it for generations to come.
