AARP Michigan received over 200 entries in this year’s “Why I Love My Grandparents” essay contest. Heartwarming essays from students throughout the state shared stories of love and the special bond shared between grandparents and grandchildren.
The state House today gave final passage to the Healthy Michigan legislation, which will provide Medicaid health care coverage to 470,000 uninsured people in the state.

The state Senate today passed the Healthy Michigan legislation, which will provide health care coverage to 470,000 uninsured people in the state.
Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette has issued a “clear and strong statement” on the state constitutional protection of Detroit workers’ and retirees’ vested pension benefits, according to Lisa Dedden Cooper, AARP Michigan Manager of Advocacy.
