As AARP works to support Medicaid expansion in Michigan, a recent report by the Urban Institute and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation shows that more than 25,000 currently uninsured Michigan veterans and spouses would receive health coverage if Medicaid is expanded under the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

AARP Experience Corps volunteers become more active and energetic as they participate in the program. From the study: “At the end of the academic year, about two-thirds of the low-activity group was classified as high-activity, as they became more active in non-Experience Corps activities. “
AARP Michigan is seeking nominations for its 2013 Andrus Award for Community Service, which honors Michiganders who are sharing their experience, talent, and skills to enrich the lives of their senior community members.
To tackle the serious issue of hunger faced by millions of older adults – including more than 200,000 in Michigan -- AARP and AARP Foundation today announced that on Saturday, May 11, they are joining the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) and the U.S. Postal Service’s 21st annual food drive to help “Stamp Out Hunger.”
AARP will offer Driver Safety courses for $5 during May, which is Older Americans Month.
