Health Decisions Tour coming to a town near you

The AARP Listens to Michigan Tour will hit the road again this month and will make stops in Lansing, Grand Rapids, Traverse City, Detroit, Marquette, Kalamazoo and Jackson.

The focus of the tour will be “Health Decisions.” Topics to be explored include navigating health reform, Medicare, long-term care and caregiving issues and solutions.

“We will stress the key information and advocacy resources available for many of these issues for those planning their health decisions and those already dealing with health decisions problems,” said Andrew Farmer, AARP Michigan Associate State Director for Health and Supportive Services.

AARP Michigan will invite local organizations to the tour stops to lend further assistance during a question-and-answer session.

A light meal will be provided, free of charge.

Stops on the Health Decisions Tour, include:

Lansing – Delta Township District Library, 5130 Davenport Dr., in the multi-purpose room on May 27 from 6-7:30 p.m. Registration open now.

Grand Rapids – Yankee Clipper Branch Library, 2025 Leonard NE, in the ground-level meeting room on June 16 from 6-7 p.m. Registration open now.

Traverse City – West Bay Beach Holiday Inn, 615 E. Front St., Old Mission Room on July  23 from 6-7:30 p.m. Registration will open May 19.

Detroit – Northeast Guidance Center, 2900 Connor, on July 14 from 6-7:30 p.m. Registration will open May 19.

Marquette – Peter White Public Library, 217 N. Front St., on August 5 from 6-7:30 p.m. Registration will open July 1.

Kalamazoo – Kalamazoo Expo Center, 2900 Lake St., Room B on September 16 from 6-7:30 p.m. Registration will open August 1.

Jackson – Gene Davis and Sons, 3575 Francis St., on Sept. 29 from 6-7:30 p.m. Registration will open August 1.
