AARP Michigan is encouraging every citizen to vote on Tuesday, Nov. 8. The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The deadline for voter registration in Michigan is 30 days before an election, unless that date falls on a weekend or federal holiday. To vote in the upcoming elections, Michiganders must be registered by Tuesday, Oct. 11.

You can vote absentee if you are 60 or older, can’t vote without help at the polls or will be out of town on Election Day. However, a county, city or township clerk must receive your request for an absentee ballot by Saturday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m.

To view a sample ballot, verify registration or check on an absentee ballot request, go to michigan.gov/vote.

If you experience a problem at the polls, call 866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683) toll-free.
