AARP Mississippi is happy to announce our Scholar Athletes of the Week every Friday this fall. We partnered with Super Talk Mississippi to seek nominations for outstanding students who excel in sports and academics. The response was overwhelming! That's why we're bringing you two exceptional Scholar Athletes every week.
Meet Mary Claire Ford, who was nominated by Terri Ford. Here's what she had to say Mary Claire:
"I’d like to nominate my daughter, Mary Claire Ford for Scholar Athlete of the Week. She is a senior at Clinton High School and is (and always has been) a 4.0 student. She is starter for the Lady Arrow volleyball team, top 7 in cross country and is a mid-distance runner for the 6-time State Champions CHS Lady Arrow track team. She has been on the varsity teams since her freshman year at CHS. She strives every day to give her all in sports and academics while participating in extracurricular activities at school and church. She has won numerous academic and athletic awards in each of her sports and we are extremely proud of Mary Claire and her willingness to give 100% in everything she attempts."
Mary Claire is the daughter of Ramie and Terri Ford.
Congratulations Mary Claire!
